The Gay Life - and the "New America"

A minister recently wrote the following: Recently I saw a sad clip from an interview on a major television talk show. A young man in his early twenties was confessing to the live audience that he was interested in getting as many straight men as he could to become homosexuals. I watched as the audience laughed, cheered, and whistled at the comments of this gay man, whose main goal in life was to seduce other young men into his mental world of homosexuality.

As I sat there, I began to ask, "What is happening to the United States?" Good people who promote justice and liberty, such as Judge Moore in Alabama, are demonized as right wing religious fanatics for demanding a stone monument of the Ten Commandments to remain in the court building. However, the more sexually perverted you are, the media paints a picture of you as a "mainstream, normal American."

When Britney Spears kissed Madonna on the mouth before millions of teenagers on television, public school teachers in some areas acknowledged that young girls were caught in the halls the next day, performing the same act that their female role models had performed on MTV. (This is insane, but people today follow these entertaining stars in such a way that it reminds me of the pied piper story.)

Here is the saddest part: As always, the church sits back like an ostrich with its head in the sand and ignoring the twisted thinking of a new generation, as though ignoring the problems will somehow make them all go away. In 1963 when Madelyn O’Hare, American’s most famous atheist, had prayer and Bible reading removed from public schools, the Christians said, "Oh, that’s too bad … Isn’t this a shame!" Ten years later, it was legalized abortion. Now it is recognition of a gay couple’s right to marry. Believe it or not, there is now a movement underway to remove the cross from American churches because it is offensive to the Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists who are now American citizens. Where will all of this foolishness end?

We could stop some of this if the 38% of so-called "born-again evangelical Christians" in America would stand up and say, "Enough is enough!" It will end when we remove all the music by Britney and Madonna out of our kid’s bedrooms and say, "You are not going to be a role model!" It will end when millions of Christians write the networks and refuse to purchase the products that are promoted on the commercials of morally degrading programs. It will end when hundreds of thousands of Christians march again to Montgomery and tell the state court. "We are not moving until you reverse the decision!"

One man named Martin Luther King began a movement to change the way the nation treated black people. Despite numerous arrests and his premature death at the hands of an assassin, his "I have a dream" became reality and today the black and white people are worshiping together in most parts of the country without fear or retaliation.

The Root of the Conflict

The moral depravity increases when evil and perversion is accepted and not rejected. When our former President, Bill Clinton, had sexual relations with a young intern, he opened up a spirit in the nation that is still functioning today among the youth. Shortly after the sex act became public, many young people began to practice the same act as the President. At a school in our area, the teacher stepped out of the classroom and a young woman performed oral sex upon a young man while others watched. When confronted, she said, "Monica did it, why can’t I?" Several public school teachers have confided in me that this sexual act is so common it has become a contest among the girls to see how many guys they can take on in one weekend. The principle is clear. If the leadership permits it, then it will filter down from the top of the leadership to the lower levels of the social ladder.

While homosexuality has always existed, the number of gay men and women has exploded on the scene. There are about eleven TV programs that promote the gay lifestyle as a normal lifestyle for the "new America." Homosexuals throw it in the faces of straight people and say, "Live with it if you like it or not."

Why has the acceptability of this lifestyle come on the scene recently with such force? I believe part of the problem is a spiritual problem that goes back to the church. In the Protestant church, too many fathers are missing from their families and too many dads are A.W.O.L. The father is to be the spiritual head of the house. It is a fact that when a strong father is present, there is very little chance the children will become homosexual or bi-sexual. It is also a fact that when a strong father presides, the children are less likely to use drugs, become alcoholics, and end up in jail. I have seen the statistics that prove this. Many gay young men had no father in the home and have an inner desire to seek the approval of a man in their lives. The enemy uses this need and manipulates their emotions to form a sexual bond instead of a healthy friendship.

Yet the women’s movement try to disclaim all statistics that prove the value and need of a father in the home and they try to tell us that two men or two women can raise children just as well as a heterosexual couple. Really? That is insane and all statistics prove otherwise. It is also impossible because they don’t have the proper roll models. God can only bless a home that is in proper Biblical order. Only godly parents produce godly children, not promiscuous ones or those who live in rebellion against God’s laws.

I also believe that certain leaders in the Catholic Church and certain priests are to blame. There are far too many Priests who have taken a vow not to marry or touch a woman, but apparently have no problems touching a young boy or another priest. It is easy to take a vow of celibacy if you are a gay priest! Yes, the church is partly to blame, both Catholic and Protestant. They allow men with this weakness of the flesh to hold the high office of Priest or Pastor and call them a "man of God." Imagine the huge number of young children who are now grown and who had hands laid on them by a secretly gay "minister," and he actually transferred a spirit of perversion from himself to the child. Now those young men are fighting inner struggles of a bi-sexual and gay lifestyle, yet no one is aware of how this spiritual problem arose in their lives.

Before someone accuses me of "gay bashing" or being "homophobic," let me say I know people right now who have struggled with this issue. I have personally ministered to men and women who have secretly confessed their struggle. In the case of the men, another man often molested them at an early age. Others had no father in the home but were under a very dominant female, and as they grew older, they resented the female role and sought out a man. In the case of the females, they were usually molested by a relative, sometimes a so-called father, and as they grew older, they resented men in their lives.

I have told them not to accept the notion they were born gay. Seed was planted in their spirits at an early age and this seed must be uprooted and replaced by the right seed. They must release and forgive their abusers and ask God for cleansing and wholeness. As much as I grieve for the public display of homosexuality being flaunted as the "new America," I am more grieved that these hurting people are not being truly helped by the power of the Gospel. God is still able to set the captives free and change their lives.

Radical homosexuals hate the true gospel message of deliverance. It confronts them and says they can change. Some are afraid of losing their lovers if the message is believed and acted upon. However, despite the opposition, we must realize that not everyone has been "given over to a reprobate mind" (Romans 1:28). Paul wrote to the church at Corinth about terrible sins of the flesh and said, "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:11). Don’t accept the lie of the enemy. There is help!

Judgment Will Come

Judgment will come for those who hate the truth and reject the gospel, but not until God visits in his mercy. God would have spared the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah if he could have found just ten righteous (Genesis 18:32). As long as there is a righteous seed on the earth, there will be mercy. However, if the righteous do not stand up for the truth, and we sit back and accept the removal of the gospel from our nation, God has no option but to permit judgment to come.

America needs to repent so God can bless America! Wake up America, judgment is at the door because we flaunt our wickedness and sin before a Holy God. He desires mercy and not judgment. He desires to forgive rather than condemn. Actually, it is and will be our sin that condemns us. John 3:18-19 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
