Cyberspace and the UN

Now the UN wants to govern and control cyberspace.
On December 10th, 2003 leaders from nearly 200 countries convened in Geneva for the World Summit on Information Society. The goal of the two day conference was to grant the UN international communications union control over internet governments. The internet was created by the US Dept of Defense but turned over to the public in the early 1990’s.
A UN Summit Official said this: “What we are looking at is the future management of the Internet. It’s not about who owns it or who will be regulating the laws, but what is (the) best way to manage what has become a natural resource for all of humanity.” When the UN says what is best for all humanity, that means everyone to the exclusion of the US and Israel. Two of the most ardent supporters of the conference are China and Cuba. Hmmm? And the next conference is set to be in Tunisia for 2005. Wow, such a friendly place as far as the US and Israel is concerned.
The Geneva world summit had registered nearly 13,000 participants from 174 countries. At least 60 of these are heads of states, including Fidel Castro. One of the principles of the World Summit on the Information Society’s Declaration of Principles promises to attack: “…acts motivated by racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, (defamation of religions) and related intolerance, hatred, violence-and trafficking in, and exploitation of, human beings.” Now that may sound good on the surface, but it all depends on who is defining the acts of racism and what is and what constitutes racial discrimination and the defamation of religions and the related intolerance to them. It is sure that the definition of what is defamation and intolerance of religion as relating to Islam will be completely different that what is considered the same against Christianity.
The problem to begin with is that the UN’s definition of freedom of speech is different that ours (the USA). To America freedom of speech was an inalienable right granted by God alone to all men. Since the UN charter gives it the right to grant such rights, it also has the right to take them away. So we are moving toward the coming of the anti-Christ.
