The Third Islamic Jihad and America

What we need to understand is that the Islamic Terrorist war against America and Israel did not begin on Sept. 11, 2001 and it will not end with the establishment of a democratic government in Iraq and the capture of Osama bin Laden, when and if those things happen.

The Democratic party to a large degree are almost criminally ignorant of the true history and cause of the current Islamic fundamentalist revival. Though to a much smaller degree, the Republican party is not free from this ignorance. The American public is even more in the dark, most don’t have a clue and many have been deceived by the Democratic leadership to think we are not in a war that will last until one side wins and that the enemy will not stop until defeated or victorious. Western civilization is in a global war with Islamic terrorists that are also known as Jihadists. This war is what they themselves are calling, “The Third Great Jihad.” It is important to know the mindset of the Muslim fundamentalists in order to grasp their global aspirations. It is rooted in the history of their past conquest. The first Jihad started with Mohammed and the first four leaders who succeeded him. Mohammed’s successors (Hazrat Abu Bakr, Hazrat Umer, Hazrat Usman Ghani, Hazrat Ali) were called caliphs. Under their leadership Islam spread farther and faster than any religion in history. The Muslims nearly conquered Western civilization and Europe (having conquered much of the Middle East, North Africa, Spain and Southern Italy and the Mediterranean area) until Charles Martel of France, the Franks’ Mayor of the Palace, defeated them at the Battle of Tours (more correctly called the Battle of Poitiers, but was fought between the two), which has been characterized as the salvation of Europe from Arab takeover. The battle concluded on Oct. 10, 732 A.D. and was one of the most important battles in history, stopping the advance of Islam over the Christian based society in Europe. The Muslims remained in control of >Spain and the Iberian Peninsula until they were driven out in 1492. (Now Muslims are again working to take over Europe).

The second great Jihad was launched by the Ottoman Turks. The Ottoman Empire succeeded in bringing down Christianity’s last great stronghold, Constantinople. It was the final remnant of the old Roman Empire’s hegemony in all its forms. The Ottoman Empire established control over the largest territory every ruled by Islam.

It began to decline when it failed to conquer Vienna. The British and their allies ended the Empire in WW1. At the same time the Ottoman Empire fell, a new Islamic movement was developing. There was a new anti-Western sentiment developing within Islam. This movement blamed Islam’s internal failures on anything but Islam itself. The movement took hold and set the stage for a new Islamic revival know as wahabism. This came into full bloom under the house of Saud on the Arabian Peninsula shortly before the onset of WW1.

This wahabi version of Islam which has infected the religion itself, now finding adherents in all branches and sects, especially the Shiite Muslims. Wahabism calls for the complete and total rejection and destruction of anything and everything that is not based on the original literal teaching of the prophet Mohammed in the Koran.

Wahabism’s radical teachings were demonstrated in the policies of the Afghanistan Taliban and the Shiite practices of the late Ayatollah Khomeini in >Iran. Osama bin Laden, who is a fanatic follower of Wahabism is now recognized by the radical Islamic fundamentalists and others as the supreme leader of the Third Jihad. It is not coincidental that 16 of the 19 Muslims on the 9/11 attacks were from Saudis and followers of Wahabism.

The strategy for this new holy war did not begin with the planning of the destruction of the World Trade Center. It began with the toppling of the Shah of Iran in 1979. With the Shah’s plans and programs to Westernize >Iran, along with his close ties to the >United States and subdued acceptance of the state of >Israel, the Shah was a prime target. Thanks in large to the disastrous policies of the Jimmy Carter (Democrat) State Department, the fundamentalist revolution was set in motion.

The >United States stood back while the Shah was deposed and his armed forces scattered and mostly murdered. Then the Ayatollah Khomeini returned to assume control. Thus stage one was complete. The Third Jihad now had a base of operation and the oil wealth to support its grant design of what they call the new Great Caliphate. The Ayatollah’s grant design calls for the replacement of the secular leadership in any country with Muslim majorities. This would include >Egypt, >Turkey, >Pakistan, >Indonesia, all the Arab Emirates, >Tunisia, >Libya, >Algeria, >Sudan, >Morocco, >Yemen, >Syria, >Morocco, >Lebanon, >Jordan, >Malaysia and >Indonesia. Finally, it decrees the complete destruction of >Israel. The Wahabi faith driven Third Jihad also calls for the overthrow of all secular forms of government in Muslim countries. Democracy is not found in the Muslim faith. It is contrary to the literal teaching of the Koran, thus Wahabism violently opposes Democracy in any form .

Shibley Telhami conducted an extensive survey of virtually all countries in the Middle East. In an article for the L.A. Times, he wrote, “The most popular leaders identified with an Islamic agenda were Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia and Osama bin Laden.” – Shibley Telhami (Anwar Sadat Professor for Peace and Development, University of Maryland, College Park).

This expressed the opinion of all Muslim citizens, not just the fundamentalists. In the strategy of the Third Great Jihad’s design, overthrowing the regimes of King Hussein in Jordan, Hosni Mubarak in Egypt and General Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan, tops the list. Especially treasured is the takeover of >Pakistan because of its many nuclear weapons and missiles. The long range strategy of the Third jihad is focused on the initial goals, three of them to be exact. First, force the >United States to withdraw form the Middle East. Second, take control of the oil wealth of the Muslim countries which amount to some 75% of all known oil reserves. Third, obliterate >Israel. They hope to acquire enough nuclear capability to counter >Israel’s second strike capability. A key to destroying >Israel is to place the United Nations in the role of sole arbiter in negotiations. Jihadists believe this would paralyze effective Western resistance and lead to a total withdrawal from Islamic dominated countries.

Most important, in summary, is to factor in the wahabists thinking in the Third Jihad campaign. The wahabism believes that everything, including strategy for war is to be derived from the Koran and the writings of Mohammed. Mohammed made peace with the people of Medina until he became strong. He then attacked them and wiped out most of the population, including all the males. This pattern was repeated in numerous campaigns. It is this type of thinking that justifies the use of all forms of weapons of mass destruction to kill as many Americans as possible. The Jihadists view us as the epitome of the form of civilization that is the most offensive and dangerous to Islam. It is this kind of religious passion that causes the Muslim fundamentalists to sacrifice their own life to kill as many of us as possible.

Americans, we are at war. We did not choose this war, but we had better awaken to the fact that it is there and gathering force. We must defend ourselves by all possible means before it is too later. It is not insignificant that the >U.S. is nowhere to be found in the final alignment of nations in the time just before Christ’s return and that is the time we are in right now. In the meantime, we who believe in Jesus Christ must make the most of the time we have left. The time is now and we must make the most of it.
